The Diputación approves three sports subsidies in Soria

The Provincial Council of Soria has approved today in the Governing Board 3 subsidies that will go to promote sport and physical activity in the province. In total, the items allocated to these grants exceed €60,000 and will affect town halls, clubs and associations.

The first of these is intended for municipalities and local entities with fewer than 20,000 inhabitants. To this end, an item of €45,000 has been consigned that allows these municipalities to acquire sports equipment, non-expendable material that is not subsidized by the Provincial Council through other means. It includes, among others, soccer goals, basketball equipment, tennis and table tennis games, badminton equipment, table football, etc. It can be requested between January 1 and October 30.

The ANDE Soria Club will be the beneficiary of the second aid through the signing of an agreement. It will serve to “finance the sports promotion of people with intellectual disabilities in the capital and province of Soria and for the participation of these athletes in different national and regional championships during the 2023 season,” said Benito Serrano, president of the Provincial Council. To this end, €6,000 will be allocated.

The last approved subsidy agreement is the one that affects the Celtíberas Athletics Club, which increases with respect to the one signed last year, rising in 2023 to €10,000. The group will be obliged to carry out actions aimed at attracting tourism to the province, promoting activities for the promotion and development of sports in the province. The Celtíberas militate in the Division of Honor and compete at the national level, being present in sports broadcasts on radio, television and the written press. “They are benchmarks for women’s sports at the provincial level,” Serrano highlighted.
