Diana Flores has just gone down in NFL history as the first Mexican woman to directly participate in a Pro Bowl. In December 2022, the largest American football company announced that the Mexican would be among its ranks for said meeting, although the role it would play was not particularly known.

A few days after the match took place, it was announced that the Flag Football player (or “bill”) and national team would participate as the Offensive Coordinator of the American Conference teamwhich would be under the command of Peyton Manning, which was already enough to monopolize the reflectors on one side of the field. Despite the fact that we have seen a greater participation of women being part of the refereeing squads in official games and coaches and analysts of different teams, this is the first time that a woman has become a Coordinator.

Diana has participated in multiple competitions that resonate within her resume. At 14 years old, North Penn Pennsylvania High School selected her to be part of their team and two years later, in 2014, she became a national team for the first time. She now knows the sensations of being at the highest level of the gridiron.

“It’s amazing to be able to share, to be here with the best talent in the NFL. We had the opportunity to have team meetings and coaching, so I am very happy and grateful. We have had meetings with Payton Manning, with Ryan Lewis, to talk about the playbook and how we were going to play,” Flores said for ESPN.

“It fills my heart to see the impact and growth of this sport that, personally, has sheltered me for many years and has helped me grow as a person, as an athlete, and to make many of my dreams come true. Sport definitely unites people, men and women, children, regardless of age or where you are from,” said Diana Flores for The Hobby.

Flores, in addition to earning a place in the NFL, was able to rub shoulders with the stars without going unnoticed. Diana has established herself as one of the best players in her discipline. In 2022, Flores was the captain of the Mexican national team that won the gold medal at the World Gameswhich are organized by the International Olympic Committee.

Over the years, the Pro Bowl has been sold as a party for fans, but the reality is that it draws less attention and no excitement anymore. Therefore, for this campaign, the organization announced radical changes in the format of the game, in which, andThe game would be Flag Football and not in the traditional way, in the form of an American game as such. This with the intention of avoiding injuries.

Flores’ participation in the Pro Bowl caused a stir in several ways, one of which was precisely the participation of the Flag in a great event. The NFL is the highest body that is promoting the inclusion of the Tocho as an Olympic sport. The goal is for it to debut at the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, for this reason, the National Football League has opted for greater dissemination of this discipline and has appointed Diana Flores as the ambassador in Mexico. Flores has 17 years of experience within the discipline.

With the new Pro Bowl games, the NFL is the one who ends up winning. Being the main promoter of Flag Football to be taken into account as an Olympic discipline, it continues to support different teams from various Latin American countries for the development and participation in the sport.
