Salihamidžić scolds Gnabry for being “amateurish”.

Serge Gnabry threatens even more trouble at Bayern. His trip to Fashion Week leaves sports director Hasan Salihamidžić very upset – the attacker therefore has to appear for an interview. Probably also because Gnabry could not meet a basic requirement from coach Julian Nagelsmann.

Bayern Munich’s sports director Hasan Salihamidžić sharply criticized national soccer player Serge Gnabry for his trip to Paris to a fashion fair in the middle of an English Bundesliga week. The Munich professional will have to report to the head of sports today, Wednesday. “It’s amateurish. That’s exactly what I don’t like. It’s not Bayern Munich to romp around somewhere when you have a day off,” said Salihamidžić after the league leaders’ 1-1 draw against 1. FC Köln. Gnabry appeared at Fashion Week in the French capital on a free Sunday and posted many photos of it himself.

Coach Julian Nagelsmann had already expressed his displeasure on Monday and demanded performance. In the game against Cologne, Gnabry was in the starting eleven, but presented himself completely indisposed and was substituted at the break. Nagelsmann said succinctly that he wanted to bring “a breath of fresh air”. Salihamidžić meanwhile reprimanded the 27-year-old: “A day off is part of resting so that you can step on the gas for the next game.” Nagelsmann, on the other hand, did not want to verbally heat up the “boulevard topic” in the press conference after the game.

For Salihamidžić, however, the discussion about the trip to France is not over yet. “We’ll talk about that,” announced the sports director, which will happen on Wednesday. “I wanted to leave the boys alone to prepare for the game,” he said, adding: “Of course, that needs to be discussed.”

Before the top game on Saturday (6.30 p.m. / Sky and in the live ticker on ntv.de) against Eintracht Frankfurt, Salihamidžić called for a reaction from his stars. It is “high time that we switch and understand that it is now about the championship”. When asked if everyone understood that, the sports director replied: “Yes, I have that feeling.”
