The darts fairy tale goes on and on…

Gabriel Clemens is the first German player to reach the World Cup semifinals! There is a 5:1 win against world number one Gerwyn Price!

Psycho games at Gaga sensation Clemens opponent suddenly plays with noise protection

Gaga, you are the greatest!

Shortly after the game he says: “It’s just amazing! Thanks to Germany! I beat the number one in the world, that doesn’t exist!”

It was a game of oddities. First Clemens attacks a wasp, then comes Price with a hearing protection on the stage. There has never been anything like this at a World Cup! Price wanted to get into the Saarlander’s head – but didn’t succeed!

But these little psychological games keep him cool: “I just played my game, that helped me. I just wanted to win the fifth set.”

The fact that the number 25 in the world is in the semi-finals of a world championship is one of the biggest sensations in darts history. And our German giant did it!

The Saarlander closes the sack at 9:50 p.m. with a double four.

Price immediately commented on Instagram: “It’s so frustrating you play all year long to prepare for this one tournament. I’m so disappointed that I couldn’t play really well. But good luck to everyone who’s still around. I’m not sure I’ll ever play in this event again.”

In the end, Clemens has an average of 100 points, a double rate of 35 percent – and the semifinals!

Clemens will play there against last year’s finalist Michael Smith on Monday. He had reached the semi-finals in the afternoon. Smith, one of the big favorites for the title, surprisingly had to tremble against Stephen Bunting. In the eighth set, the match threatened to tip over, although the “Bully Boy” had already comfortably led 4:1. However, “The Bullet” was unable to use his chances to equalize to make it 4:4, so Smith narrowly won 5:3 in the end and now meets Clemens on January 2nd.

In the other semi-final, superstar Michael van Gerwen meets Dimitri Van den Bergh. The Dutchman knocked out Chris Dobey in five sets. Van den Bergh defeated Jonny Clayton 5-3.
