The German goalkeeper announced on his social networks that he has suffered a broken lower leg

Manuel Neuer will miss the rest of the season due to an accident while ski touring, a practice, a priori, prohibited for elite players, during his post-World Cup vacation. The German goalkeeper underwent surgery yesterday and posted a photo on social media of him in which he appears resting in hospital after suffering a lower leg break.

“Hi guys. What can I say, the end of the year definitely could have gone better… While trying to clear my head ski touring, I suffered a broken lower leg. Yesterday’s operation went well. Many thanks to the doctors! However, it pains me to know that the current season is over for me,” wrote the captain of the German team.

The Bayern Munich goalkeeper has not had his best season. To the criticism for his performance against Costa Rica, which has fueled the debate about his ownership in the ‘Mannschaft’, is added his absence in the round of 16 of the Champions League against Paris Saint Germain, a major setback for the team led by Julian Nagelsmann.
