Tyler Herro signs extension with Miami Heat for $130 million

Tyler Herro, winner of the 2022 Sixth Man of the Year award, signed a four-year, $130 million contract extension with the Miami Heat on Sunday, his agents Jeff Schwartz and Mike Lindeman told ESPN.

Herro showed his worth last season, averaging 20.7 points per game, 5 rebounds and 4 assists, and now he will have an annual salary of over 30 million dollars per year. The deal includes $120 million guaranteed with incentives that could put $130 million in his bank account.

The Heat player is the sixth player in history taken in the first round of the NBA Draft to sign a rookie contract extension. Zion Williamson, Ja Morant and RJ Barrett did the same with the New Orleans Pelicans, Memphis Grizzlies and New York Knicks, respectively.

ESPN recalls that Herro had 8 games of at least 30 points coming off the bench in 2021-22, the most by any NBA player since Lou Williams in the 2018-19 season.
