FC Barcelona owes millions of euros in transfer fees to several top European clubs. This emerges from the financial reports of Blaugrana, which are available to the Spanish broadcaster “Catalunya Radio”.
For example, Barça only transferred three million of the transfer fee to Torres’ ex-club Manchester City for the transfer of Ferran Torres (22), who the Catalans signed for 55 million euros last January.
The remaining €52m has to be paid between this season and next.
Ajax Amsterdam is also still waiting for coal from Spain. In 2019, Barça signed Frenkie de Jong (25) for 86 million euros from the Dutch record champions. Barcelona still need to transfer 32m to finalize the deal.
Barça owe another ten million to Amsterdam for right-back Sergino Dest (21).

Even for players who are no longer under contract in Barcelona, the club still has to pay a lot.
Miralem Pjanic came from Juventus in 2020 for €60m. The Bosnian flopped and joined Sharjah FC in the United Arab Emirates on a free transfer this year. Juve is still waiting for 36 million of the transfer fee.
Barça also owes 14 million for record signing Philippe Coutinho (30), who switched from Liverpool to the Spaniards in 2019 for an incredible 135 million. In return, Coutinho’s current club, Aston Villa, also has to pay ten million to Barcelona.
In total, the club still owes 144 million euros for past transfers. Last summer, however, Barça did not prevent them from making expensive purchases again. Among other things, the club took Robert Lewandowski (34) from Bayern and spent 153 million on the transfer market.
After all: sporty things are going well for the club. Barcelona won six out of seven league games and only had to accept a defeat in a competitive game in the 0-2 in Munich in the Champions League.
