These opponents threaten us in the European Championship qualification

Our team is now targeting the European Championship. The qualifying draw will take place on October 9th.

After the Nations League is before the European Championship qualification! The qualifying groups for the 2024 finals in Germany will be drawn in Frankfurt on Sunday, October 9 (12 noon). ServusTV broadcasts the spectacle live. “We will do everything to qualify for the EURO,” emphasized team manager Ralf Rangnick. With the 1: 3 defeat against Croatia, however, it was clear that Austria would only be drawn from pot 2. That means our team is threatened with tough opponents like the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain and Portugal. Not a big problem, says Rangnick: “We have enough self-confidence to qualify for the European Championship, regardless of whether we’re in pot 1 or 2.” You want to be there in Germany “and then play a really good role there”.

The European Championship qualification starts on March 23, 2023 and will be played over ten match days until November 2023. 20 of the 23 available tickets will be awarded through regular qualification. The first and second in the group are fixed in the finals. The remaining three participants will be determined via a play-off tournament in March 2024. Germany can save themselves the qualification as hosts and is already part of the final round, which will take place from June 14th to July 14th, 2024.
