Fernando Cruz makes his first appearance as a starter

The dream story of the Puerto Rican pitcher Ferdinand Cruz after fulfilling his dream of pitching in the Major Leagues will open a new chapter on Tuesday when he gets the chance to open his first game in Major League Baseball (MLB).

As announced by the Cincinnati Reds organization through its Twitter account, Cruz will be their starting pitcher in the second of two games that Cincinnati would hold on Tuesday against the Pittsburgh Pirates.

The doubleheader began with a 6-1 victory for the Pirates.

The night crash was scheduled to start at 6:40 p.m.

At 32 years old, Cruz was finally able to make his MLB debut last Friday, September 2, by throwing an inning against the Colorado Rockies. He came out of the bullpen to give up three outs in the sixth inning.

The Puerto Rican has stood out in the Puerto Rican winter ball as a closer, but on occasions he has been used as a starter or long reliever.
