Mikel Sanz has signed for the Grupo Alega Cantabria and will complete his third season in the LEB Oro in the recently promoted team from the LEB Plata. The 23-year-old forward from San Sebastian returns to Torrelavega, where he went for the first time in 2019/20 after the year in which he was combining the ACB with Gipuzkoa Basket and La Plata with Iraurgi.

Last season, at Basketball Coruña, he played an average of 11:51 minutes per game, with 3.2 points, 1.6 rebounds, 64.7% accuracy in two-shots and 39.5% in three-shots . He has not had much prominence under the command of Sergio García, also from San Sebastian, as he was in a squad that was aimed at fighting to enter the Final Four, but the coaches he had both in Melilla and in Galicia highlight the progress that Sanz is having . They indicate that he may have a promising future, and the Grupo Alega Cantabria may be the ideal place to have minutes and make a leap in presence on the track.

Of the Gipuzkoans who played in the LEB Oro last season, the only thing left to resolve is the future of Gaizka Maiza. It has not yet been announced where he will play, but everything indicates that the Ibarra point guard will not continue at Melilla. Julen Olaizola has renewed in Cáceres, the four from Gipuzkoa Basket, Aitor Zubizarreta, Xabi Oroz, Mikel Motos and Xabi Beraza, Iñigo de la Hera has joined and in Juaristi Iraurgi Beñat Hevia, Ibon Guridi, Ierai Aizpitarte and Manex also continue Ansoregi.
