[아시아경제 영남취재본부 김귀열 기자] On the 23rd, Yeongju, Gyeongsangbuk-do, held the ‘2022 Yeongju Mayor Sports Competition by Event’ at the National Sports Center, and will compete in 19 sports until the end of September.

The Yeongju Mayor’s Sports Competition was held every year to provide sports enthusiasts with opportunities for sports and cultural activities and further promote citizen’s health and unity through sports.

There are a total of 19 sports (gateball, ground golf, soft tennis, baseball, park golf, foot volleyball, soccer, table tennis, bowling, aerobic hip-hop, badminton, volleyball, basketball, golf, tennis, swimming, archery, futsal, Korean archery). , 4,000 athletes and executives will participate and show off their skills honed in the sports fields including the Citizens’ Stadium.

At the opening ceremony, 19 people of merit in each event were awarded a plaque of merit, expressing gratitude and encouragement for the hard work of athletes who contributed to the development of sports by raising the status of the city with a unique sense of duty and passion in the difficult circumstances of Corona 19.
