BOLANAS.COM – The coach of the Indonesian U-23 national team, Shin Tae-yong, opened his voice regarding the arrival time of Ipswich Town defender Elkan Baggott.

As is known, the name Elkan Baggott was actually included in the list of 20 players called by Shin Tae-yong for the 2021 SEA Games.

Elkan Baggott was previously reported to be joining the U-23 national team match against Vietnam, last Friday (6/5/2022).

However, Elkan Baggott never joined the Indonesian U-23 national team.

The British defender was again absent when Garuda Muda crushed Timor Leste on Tuesday (10/5/2022).

“Elkan Baggott is still not allowed by his club,” said Yunus Nusi, Sunday (8/5/2022).

Shin Tae-yong finally opened up about the fate of Elkan Baggott.

The South Korean coach said Elkan Baggott would still join the Indonesian U-23 national team.

“In the future, maybe Elkan will come,” said Shin Tae-yong.

However, Shin Tae-yong could not confirm when the 19-year-old player would come.

Shin Tae-yong admitted that he could only wait when Elkan Baggott would come.

“It is not possible to give a definite answer when Elkan will arrive in Vietnam,” he said.

The presence of Elkan Baggott itself can be good news for the Indonesian U-23 national team.

Currently, the Indonesian U-23 national team is still in fourth place in the 2021 SEA Games Group A standings.

Garuda Muda now has two matches remaining in the preliminary round of Group A.

Asnawi Mangkualam and colleagues are scheduled to fight the Philippines (13/5/2022) and Myanmar (15/5/2022).

The Indonesian U-23 National Team must wipe out the two matches with a win if they want to continue to qualify for the 2021 SEA Games semifinals.
