Beijing time on April 20th news, in today’s Australian U20 National Basketball Championship, the NBA International Academy played by Chinese players Li Yongwei and Wang Junjie defeated Victoria Navy 68-60.
Chinese player Li Yongwei played 30 minutes and scored 7 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist and 1 steal on 3 of 8 shots; Wang Junjie scored 6 points, 3 rebounds and 3 steals on 2 of 8 shots in 13 minutes and 55 seconds.
Born in 2004, Li Yongwei is 1.96 meters tall. He is studying at the High School Affiliated to Tsinghua University. He is the main force of the basketball team of the High School Affiliated to Tsinghua University and a member of the National Youth Basketball Team. Last year, he received an invitation from the Global Training Center of the NBA Elite Program and received a full scholarship Li Yongwei then went to the NBA Basketball Academy in Australia for training to prepare for a higher level of basketball arena.
In the Spark Cup last year, Li Yongwei led the Tsinghua High School to the final, and scored 30 points against the Zhejiang Youth Team to lead the team to win the championship. Li Yongwei won the MVP of the competition and was recognized as the first domestic player in 2004.
Wang Junjie, who was born in 2005, is 2.06 meters tall. He is training at the NBA International Academy with Li Yongwei. Because of his excellent flexibility, it is understood that he has started to play No. 3. In the 2020 U15 finals, he scored 31 points and 19 rebounds to help the team win the championship and get the most valuable player.
