La Liga, FC Barcelona: Report: Ousmane Dembélé probably agreed with this club – FOOTBALL

That’s unexpected! Most recently, everything pointed to a contract extension for Ousmane Dembélé (24) at FC Barcelona – but now apparently the U-turn …

As the Spanish newspaper “Sport” reports, the situation around the Barça contract, which expires in the summer, has become complicated.

The Catalans have been waiting for an agreement for weeks, but negotiations have stalled in the last few hours.

Now awesome! As the newspaper further reports, Dembélé is said to have basically agreed on a change with Juventus in June 2022.

Last week, a contract extension seemed only a formality.

“Sport” reported that Dembélé (30 goals in 126 games for Barça) will sign a new five-year contract in Barcelona. The 2018 world champion is said to have even agreed to a reduction in his salary. Everything is going to be different now.

This news is a real shock for Barça, financially right now!

Because: Should Dembélé really leave the club for free, Barça would allegedly have to pay around 40 million euros to BVB, from where the Frenchman moved to Spain in 2017. Originally 135 million euros were due, but for the transfer they agreed – as is common in the industry – to pay in installments.

According to Spanish media reports, there are still around 40 million euros left, which Barça could then no longer divide. In view of around 1.35 billion debts, the question then arises how exactly the Catalans want to manage it.

Due to recent developments, Barça are now even considering leaving Dembélé in the stands for the second half of the season. According to “TV3”, President Joan Laporta (59) and Managing Director Mateu Alemany (58) will talk to coach Xavi (41) about whether it makes sense to exclude the French for the rest of the season.

And what about Paris Saint-Germain? According to “Sport”, PSG is the club Dembélé would most like to join.

But as the newspaper reports, FC Barcelona’s ultimatum for the contract extension with the striker is running out, and if PSG does not answer, Dembélé should take the route to Turin …
