The sub19s of the Albacete Badminton Club shone in Alfajarín

The good performance of the U19 players of the Albacete Badminton Club in the National Ranking tournament held in Alfajarín (Zaragoza) increases their chances of qualifying directly for the U19 Spanish Championship to be held in Gijón at the end of the month.

Loreto Marco, Oriol Arans and Mario Serrano had magnificent results. Mario and Oriol returned with a gold and a silver each and the feeling of having taken an important step each, defeating very powerful couples. Accustomed to competing in Murcia and Valencia, this trip to Zaragoza allowed them to play against other high-level rivals.

In the double semifinals they beat the Sorianos Barrios-López, the main favorites to win, by 22-20 and 21-13, to defeat their executioners in the group stage, Rodríguez-Escuer, 2-0 in the final. Mario completed this success with the individual final, which he reached after a highly contested victory against Rodríguez from Huesca in three sets, but lost 21-11 and 21-16. Oriol’s silver was achieved with Loreto Marco in the mixed doubles, upon reaching the final, which they lost against the favorite pair Gella-Morcante (Huesca).

In the individual modality, Loreto also reached the semifinals, but Aurora Otín (Huesca) closed the pass to the final in a disputed match that ended 21-13, 14-21 and 21-15.
