The Ohio State football team are currently in the throes of a Big Ten title race, but their hardwood counterpart will break the seal of the season in just about a week and a half.
And you know the season is near when the preseason polls come out. We have already seen where the Buckeyes are in the Top 25 from the Associated Press poll, and Wednesday, the Ferris Mowers Men’s Basketball Coach Survey, powered by USA TODAY Sports was released with the Ohio State registration at No.17.
It should be yet another exciting and difficult Big Ten season, and poll shows expectations with Michigan (No. 6), Purdue (No. 7), Illinois (No. 10), Ohio State and Maryland (No. 21) all made the top 25. Michigan State just missed the cut.
It really looks like an unpredictable year for the Buckeyes. There’s a lot of returning talent – especially in the frontcourt – but with the loss of some players in the backcourt, a few guys healing injuries, and new players through the transfer portal, it could all be okay or end up being a list management experience that never fully works.
Still, the team looks like another NCAA tournament, so it should be fun to see how it all plays out.
Here’s the rest of the Ferris Mowers Men’s Basketball Coach Poll.
