Cristian Garin put an end to his season

After getting off the ATP 500 in Vienna within hours of his debut, Cristian Garin (17th in the world ranking) chose to close his 2021 season. The Chilean had in the near future the Masters 1000 in Paris, where he defended 180 points from the quarterfinals reached in 2019, plus ATP 250 from Stockholm.

The injury is an inflammation in the right shoulder that will have him inactive for a few weeks, so the times are enough for him to just wield a racket in the preseason period.

The best of his calendar year was the title at home, ATP 250 in Santiago, in addition to the Quarters in the Masters 1000 in Madrid (defeating Daniil Medvedev on the way) and the Eighths of Roland Garros and Wimbledon.

It is clear that the focus will be on physical recovery to face 2022 at 100% and on look for a new coach to replace Franco Davin.
