On the evening of Saturday, October 23, the award ceremony of the trophies to the winners of the first stage of the solo transatlantic regatta of character International Mini Transat EuroChef 2021, where both authorities, organizers, athletes, public and private entities, as well as the same fleet of the regatta made up of 87 skippers and their companions who visited the island on the occasion of the event, lived a cozy and familiar moment.
The Real Club Náutico de Santa Cruz de La Palma, which organizes the stopover of the prestigious biennial regatta, acted as host in the act of awarding trophies and gifts to sailors. A solidarity banner was displayed on stage in support of the people affected by the Cumbre Vieja volcano, being a very emotional moment for those present.

José Jaubert, president of the Real Club Náutico, once again welcomed the entire fleet of sailors and recognized the effort of the entire organization, of the volunteers and sea and land assistance teams of the regatta, as well as the public administrations, sponsoring entities and companies of the island for the support provided. The Minister of Tourism of the Hon. Cabildo Insular de La Palma, Raúl Camacho Sosa, pointed out that from the insular institution he represents “they have witnessed the drive and enthusiasm that the Real Club Náutico set about organizing the Mini Transat stopover and we knew that we had an obligation to support an event of this magnitude, to make La Palma, the Mini Transat and nautical tourism grow ”. He pointed out that “despite the current situation on the island, sports and tourism activities must continue for the well-being and future of the island, and normality must be restored despite the catastrophe and at the hands of those affected to move forward together ”, concluded Camacho.
From the City Council of Santa Cruz de La Palma, Mayor Juan José Cabrera Guelmes, expressed his gratitude to the organization and the sailors for having bet on the Island of La Palma and its capital, especially for the efforts of sailors to continue to Despite the eruption of the volcano and having provided such a beautiful picture on the coasts of the island of La Palma, in the Marina and Port of the capital.
