The Czech men’s relay in the 4×400 meter run took seventh place in the semifinals in Tokyo in a time of 3: 03.61 and did not advance to the Olympic finals. The fastest were the Americans, who are trying to make up for the failure of the individual Thursday, where they ended up without a medal.

Mäki was the first Czech runner in the 1500 meters Olympic final. The progression to him visibly cost her a lot of energy and today she could not keep up with the elite. She finished in thirteenth place in 4: 11.76.

The only Czech relay to play was Patrik Šorm, Pavel Maslák, Michal Desenský and Vít Müller. Compared to the June record in Cluj, Jan Tesař was replaced by Desenský, but the Czechs were more than a second behind at the time. Obstacle Müller on the last section repulsed the attack of the German quartet and defended at least the penultimate place.
Even repeating the record would not be enough to advance today, five relays ran under three minutes. The Americans won the start in the best time of the year 2: 57.77 and they still saved two of their finalists from individual Thursday, neither the fourth Michael Cherry nor the fifth Michael Norman.
