Finland and Russia lost against Belgium and Denmark on Monday evening, which allows the Blues to be assured of finishing at least among the best third stages of hens. As a reminder, the first two of each group are qualified but also the four best third. Thanks to its victory against Germany and its draw against Hungary, the French team already has four points, which is enough for it to be among these famous best thirds, even in the event of a defeat against Portugal.
Ironically, three years after their bitter defeat in the semi-finals of the World Cup against the French, it is therefore the Belgians who allow the Blues to move without stress to the next round.
Eleven teams already qualified for the round of 16
The teams of Sweden, Czech Republic and England are also guaranteed to be at least among the best third, even before playing their last match, and are therefore qualified for the eighth. Ditto for Switzerland, who finished third in Group A with four points.
