Australia’s Ashleigh Barty, world No. 1 and winner of Roland Garros 2019, retired in the second round of Roland Garros, apparently suffering from a lower back, as she was down 6-1, 2-2 by the Polish Magda Linette (45th) Thursday. Barty came out of Central Court to be manipulated after the first set, but finally threw in the towel after four games in the second. The 25-year-old Australian had already used physiotherapy during her first round on Tuesday.
