Victor Wembanyama’s Witcher Halloween Costume Inspires 43-Point Game

Victor Wembanyama arrived at the Frost Bank Center dressed as Geralt of Rivia for Halloween before scoring 43 points in the San Antonio Spurs’ 121-111 win against Minnesota. The 22-year-old French star walked into the arena in all-black attire, wearing a long white wig and carrying two large swords—one in his right hand and another strapped to his back.

Geralt of Rivia Arrival at Frost Bank Center

In previous years, the former Met 92 player arrived in costume as No-Face from Spirited Away in 2024 and as Slenderman in 2023. For this year’s game against Minnesota, scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET on NBA League Pass, the player leaned into the fantasy genre with complete gear from The Witcher franchise.

Explaining his choice of costume, Wembanyama noted that he had read all the books in the series. He remarked that he found the character to be someone who goes through many difficult things, describing Geralt as a deep, complex figure who resonates with him despite the fantastic setting.

Forty-Three Points Against Minnesota

The elaborate costume preceded a dominant performance on the floor. Wembanyama tallied 43 points, marking the second-highest scoring total of his career behind the 50 points he scored against the Washington Wizards in November 2024. He added 7 rebounds, 6 blocks, and 4 assists in the victory.
