Ich habe gelernt, dass ich mich komplett zum Affen machen kann,
said Moritz Wagner, laughing as he reflected on his television experience. The 29-year-old NBA player steps off the hardwood and into the television studio on November 1, joining the twelfth season of the ProSieben quiz show Wer stiehlt mir die Show? to challenge moderator Joko Winterscheidt for his job.
Stepping Away From the Hardwood Into a Television Studio
The Brooklyn Nets player enters the entertainment ring alongside comedian Carolin Kebekus and entertainer Jens “Knossi” Knossalla in the six-episode quiz format broadcast on ProSieben and Joyn. Filming took place in June and July during the NBA summer break, allowing the 2,11-meter basketballer time to record the series without missing his club commitments. Wagner’s full name is Victor Moritz Wagner, born in Berlin’s Prenzlauer Berg district, where an Alba Berlin coach discovered him as an eight-year-old before he climbed through the club’s youth ranks to make his professional debut at age 17 in 2014.
Embracing the Chaos of Zockspiele and Quiz Challenges
Wagner admitted in his podcast Kannst du so nicht sagen that the production pushed him out of his comfort zone. He relied on unscripted authenticity, adopting a mindset to follow through with any question thrown his way.
Building Bonds With Co-Stars Knossi and Kebekus
Despite initial unfamiliarity with the streaming personality, Wagner praised Knossalla’s energetic presence on set. The guy is a legend. He was so funny,
Wagner said in his podcast, noting that Knossi remained the same person both on and off camera and playfully dominated segments of the production. He also described a positive working relationship with Kebekus, calling her genuinely kind throughout the two-week shoot. The experience ultimately fostered a close friendship between Wagner and Winterscheidt, transforming a professional broadcast encounter into a personal connection as the basketball player represented his sport on a mainstream entertainment platform.
The Next Episode Airing on November 1
Viewers can watch the season premiere on November 1 at 20:15 on ProSieben and Joyn, where Wagner, Kebekus, Knossi, and a weekly wild-card candidate begin their challenge against Winterscheidt across six episodes.
