Sinner adds Norman to coaching team

Jannik Sinner is overhauling his coaching team in a bid to reclaim the No. 1 ranking from Alexander Zverev, hiring former world No. 2 Magnus Norman to replace his long-time mentor Darren Cahill. The move, set to begin in December, comes as Sinner aims to surpass the German at the top of the ATP rankings.

A New Coaching Partnership

The 25-year-old Italian will be coached by the 50-year-old Swede, who will join the team alongside current coach Simone Vagnozzi. Jannik Sinner has not played a tournament since winning Wimbledon in July due to a knee injury that ended his ATP season prematurely.

A Legacy of Success

Magnus Norman, a former world No. 2, won twelve ATP titles during his professional career and reached the final of the French Open. His coaching pedigree includes guiding Swiss player Stanislas Wawrinka to three Grand Slam victories. An Emotional Farewell

Sinner’s split with Darren Cahill, who had been his coach for five years, was marked by an emotional tribute from the player. Under Cahill’s guidance, Sinner rose to the top of the world rankings and won five Grand Slam titles.
