Micah Parsons Targets Thanksgiving Return for Green Bay Packers

Micah Parsons is targeting a return for the Thanksgiving Eve game on Nov. 25 against the Los Angeles Rams, sources revealed to NFL Network. Parsons is scheduled to return to practice next week after reaching all of his most recent rehabilitation markers following a torn ACL and meniscus.

Rehabilitation Timeline and Practice Schedule

The upcoming practice sessions do not mark the end of Parsons’ recovery, according to sources who described the move as a continuation of an accelerated timeline managed by the player’s training staff and the Packers. The plan for next week calls for Parsons to participate strictly in individual drills. If he clears those benchmarks, team drills will follow the week after.

Green Bay’s bye week falls in Week 11, setting up a compressed preparation window ahead of the matchup against Los Angeles. Parsons has not played since Dec. 14, when he suffered the knee injuries. He underwent surgery on Dec. 29 to reconstruct his anterior cruciate ligament and fully repair the meniscus.

Cautious Approach to Joint Health

Speaking recently on his podcast “The Edge,” Parsons emphasized the necessity of a methodical recovery process to protect against secondary injuries. He noted that returning too quickly often leads to overcompensation on the opposite side of the body, pointing out the interconnected nature of lower-body joints.

Packers head coach Matt LaFleur acknowledged the significant defensive boost Parsons provides when healthy. Parsons registered 12.5 sacks across 14 games last season prior to the knee injury. “At the end of the day, that’s medical,” LaFleur said of the comeback timeline. “Yeah, although I’m anxious to do it, sure.”
