Jacksonville Jaguars Dominance in 33-10 Win Over Depleted Ravens
The Jacksonville Jaguars secured a commanding 33-10 victory over the Baltimore Ravens on Thursday, extending their grip on the AFC South division. With the win, Jacksonville moved to 6-2 on the season, extending their lead in the division to 3 1/2 games. For the Ravens, the loss marked their fourth defeat, leaving the team at 4-5 as they struggle to manage a series of significant roster absences.
Quarterback Challenges for Baltimore
The Ravens entered the contest facing an acute shortage of depth at the quarterback position. With both Lamar Jackson and Tyler Huntley sidelined due to injuries, Baltimore turned to 25-year-old rookie Joe Fagnano. Making his second appearance after a debut against Buffalo, Fagnano struggled to generate offense, throwing for just 60 yards. The team’s offensive limitations were evident throughout the evening, forcing the coaching staff to utilize unconventional tactics, including direct snaps to running back Derrick Henry.
Head coach Jesse Minter addressed the team’s ongoing personnel difficulties following the game. “It’s a difficult situation for our guys. But I just told them there are no excuses,” Minter said. “There is no ‘whatever, we don’t have this guy, we don’t have that guy.’”
Jacksonville’s Controlled Offensive Performance
Trevor Lawrence led the Jaguars’ offense, throwing for 242 yards and a touchdown. Jacksonville avoided high-risk plays, opting instead to maintain ball security on a rainy night. The Jaguars’ opening drive set the tone for the game, as the team marched 77 yards to score on a 1-yard touchdown run by Bhayshul Tuten.
The Jaguars continued to capitalize on Baltimore’s errors in the second half. Following a lost fumble by the Ravens on a kickoff return, Chris Rodriguez Jr. scored on a 2-yard run with 7:26 remaining, pushing the Jacksonville lead to 33-3. Fagnano finished the night completing 10 of 18 passes, including two interceptions during the final two quarters.
Justice Hill’s Late Scoring Run
Despite the lopsided score, Baltimore managed one significant offensive highlight. Running back Justice Hill broke away for a 65-yard touchdown run with just over seven minutes remaining in the game. The score marked the Ravens’ first touchdown in the second half since Week 5. Hill concluded the night with 85 yards on nine carries, effectively ending Jacksonville’s streak of 24 games without allowing an individual runner to gain at least 75 yards.
Ravens Roster Outlook
As Baltimore looks to recover from their four-game skid, the organization is preparing for the arrival of quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The team hopes the addition will provide stability while they await further updates on the health of their primary starters. Fagnano, who has been managing a lingering ankle issue, remains the current starter in a rapidly shifting depth chart.
