The warrant for the former defender’s arrest was issued by the 9th Family Court of Belo Horizonte. Law enforcement officials identified the outstanding mandate while Réver was passing through the airport terminal. At the time of the incident, he was traveling with the Red Bull Bragantino women’s team, which was in the city to face Internacional in the semifinals of the Copa do Brasil, as reported by Terra.
Payment of Debt and Release
Following his detention, Réver was transferred to the Federal Police headquarters in Porto Alegre. The outstanding debt totaled approximately R$ 150,000. Upon confirmation of the payment of this full amount, he received an alvará de soltura and was freed late in the afternoon.
The Federal Police characterized the detention as a civil, extra-penal measure, used exclusively as a coercive instrument to compel the debtor to fulfill a financial obligation rather than as a criminal punishment.
