Reyer Venezia is changing its roster strategy as the club prepares for the return of guard Sir’Jabari Rice and targets an experienced foreign center to strengthen its frontcourt. This tactical pivot makes the departure of guard Erick Green increasingly likely before the upcoming November 19 deadline, according to reports from Sportando and Pianeta Basket.
The situation represents a change in direction for the Venetian club. Only ten days ago, management and the coaching staff under Neven Spahija appeared set on retaining Green through the remainder of the season, having been satisfied with the player’s leadership and scoring contributions since his September arrival. However, the impending return of Rice—who has been sidelined since September with a foot fracture—has altered the team’s needs. Rice is expected to be available for the EuroCup match against Skyliners Frankfurt on November 18.
Cantù and Reggio Emilia Monitor Green’s Status
Green’s contract includes a bilateral exit clause that expires on November 19, a date that serves as the primary checkpoint for his potential departure. As news of his availability has spread, multiple clubs have expressed interest in the 1991-born guard. Sportando reported that Pallacanestro Cantù is currently in the lead to sign the player, aiming to bring him back to the Brianza region, where he previously played.

Beyond the immediate talent acquisition, the move holds strategic value for the Lombardy club: because Green is already registered in Italy for the current season, his signing would not require the use of a new work visa, allowing Cantù to preserve that slot for future market maneuvers. Pallacanestro Reggiana has also been identified as a suitor, as they are actively seeking a guard to strengthen their perimeter rotation.
Frontcourt Adjustments and the Future of Enoch Boakye
To accommodate a new, experienced foreign pivot, Reyer Venezia is evaluating the future of Enoch Boakye. The Canadian player, who is under a two-year contract with an option, has struggled to find consistent footing in the rotation during his time in Venice. According to reports cited by Pianeta Basket, the club is considering sending Boakye out on loan to create space and budget for a center capable of providing immediate impact.
The search for a new big man is a priority for the Reyer front office, with Chris Horton being mentioned among the profiles of interest. While the club works to finalize its frontcourt additions, the roster remains in a state of transition ahead of the November 19 deadline, which marks the expiration of Green’s bilateral exit clause.
