AHTA Indoor Open 2026 Brings Over 56,000 Pesos to Hidalgo

The Abierto AHTA Bajo Techo 2026 will bring archers from several Mexican states to Mineral de la Reforma, Hidalgo, from Nov. 13 to 15, with a prize pool exceeding 56,000 pesos, Criterio Hidalgo reported.

The Hidalgo Archery Association (AHTA Archery) is closing out its year with the indoor tournament, which returns to Mineral de la Reforma with backing from the municipal Sports Directorate. Competitions will take place at the Unidad Deportiva Mire, the venue where organizers expect fans to watch the country’s top archers.

Prize money split across recurve and compound

Association president Oldair Zamora Nava said the purse will be distributed across recurve and compound categories in both branches. First-place winners receive 8,000 pesos, second place gets 4,000 pesos and third place takes 2,000 pesos, an incentive organizers hope will raise the competitive level in Hidalgo.

State officials are finalizing preparations in Mineral de la Reforma with support from former archer Montserrat Campos.

Delegations from Nayarit, Mexico City and the State of Mexico

The organizing committee confirmed entries from states including Nayarit, along with representatives from Mexico City and the State of Mexico, who will join roughly 45 local archers. The draw mirrors last year’s event, which attracted international names such as Javier Rojas and Olympic archer Matías Grande.

Final Hidalgo event before San Luis Potosí

The tournament is the last annual archery event in Hidalgo, coming before archers complete a final commitment in San Luis Potosí and begin preparing the official 2027 calendar. Organizers also expect the competition to strengthen promotion of the sport in youth categories and help new talents from Hidalgo emerge for future national tournaments.

Competition runs Nov. 13 through Nov. 15 at Unidad Deportiva Mire in Mineral de la Reforma.
