Zinedine Zidane has expanded his footprint in the padel world by launching his own personalized racket, the Adidas Metalbone ZZ Carbon, in a promotional campaign alongside professional player Alejandro Galán.
The Presentation and On-Court Wager
The launch featured a promotional video showing Zidane and Galán sharing a court and trading shots. Marca reported that the video includes a lighthearted wager between the two athletes after a match played with the new racket. Galán jokingly proposed claiming Zidane’s football boots if they won the session. Zidane ultimately gifted his boots to the Madrid-born professional, who placed them next to the new Metalbone ZZ Carbon in an Adidas display area.
Galán currently ranks among the top players on the professional circuit, serving as a primary brand ambassador for the German sportswear manufacturer alongside Zidane. The collaboration bridges two distinct sporting disciplines, giving visibility to a product aimed at enthusiasts of both padel and football.
Expansion of the Z5 Project in France and Italy
Zidane’s involvement in padel extends well beyond promotional campaigns and amateur play. In 2021, the French legend established his Z5 sports brand in Aix-en-Provence near Marseille, partnering with All for Padel Courts to build out dedicated playing facilities, according to Marca. That initial venture marked his formal entry into the commercial side of the sport’s expansion.
The project has since grown outside its Aix-en-Provence origins. Zidane opened facilities in Istres featuring six outdoor courts and launched a multi-sport complex in Turin, Italy, that combines padel courts with five-a-side football facilities and training camps, as noted by Marca.
Planned Complex in the Spanish Capital
Alongside his existing clubs in France and Italy, Zidane has spent the past year working toward opening a new sports facility in Madrid. Marca reported that the Hortaleza district in northern Madrid has been evaluated as the preferred site for the project, though an official launch date for the complex has not yet been confirmed.
While managing his responsibilities as the head coach of the France national team, Zidane remains a visible presence in the global padel community. Beyond his club developments and equipment launches, he has made appearances at major tournaments, including the Paris Major of Premier Padel held at the Roland Garros stadium complex.
