Slovak Real Madrid Fan and Son Ejected from Camp Nou After Celebrating Goal

Slovak Real Madrid Fan and Son Ejected From Camp Nou After €5,600 El Clásico Trip

A Slovak Real Madrid supporter and his 18-year-old son were escorted out of Camp Nou by private security guards and questioned by police after celebrating Kylian Mbappé’s opening goal during La Liga’s El Clásico. František Vavrek and his son Denis paid €5,600 for four first-category tickets in block 113 of the stadium, traveling approximately 300 kilometers by car from Prešov, Slovakia, to Budapest before flying to Barcelona for the fixture.

Journey From Prešov to Barcelona for an 18th Birthday Gift

The trip served as an 18th birthday present for Denis, who turned 18 on September 5. The four-person traveling party also included friend Krunoslav Pipinič and his son Kresimir, who had turned 18 two days before the match and supported Barcelona. According to Vavrek, neither the travel agency nor Barcelona’s official ticketing application warned buyers about any restrictions regarding wearing Real Madrid shirts in home sections.

Security Confrontation at the Stadium Gates and Tribunes

Stadium stewards initially stopped Vavrek and his son at the gates over their Real Madrid jerseys, instructing them to throw the shirts into waste bins. Vavrek recounted telling his son that they would never throw their jerseys away. The pair concealed the clothing to gain entry and put the shirts back on roughly 20 minutes before kickoff, rejecting claims that they donned them specifically to provoke home supporters after scoring.

Police Involvement Following the 40th-Minute Goal Celebration

Around the 40th minute, Mbappé scored the opening goal to put Real Madrid ahead. Vavrek stated that they did not commit any acts of violence, issue threats, or incite aggression, noting that they merely stood up and embraced. Approximately ten private security guards subsequently removed the father and son from the stands amid jeers and hostile gestures from surrounding fans. Although personnel initially suggested the pair could return if they removed their jerseys, the decision was reversed after consultation with the head of security, who cited safety concerns due to the attention they had already drawn from Barcelona supporters.

Interrogation and Watching the Remainder in a Taxi

Officers from local law enforcement checked the pair’s identification and filed a report based on statements from the security staff, logging accusations of displaying jerseys, provocation, and behavior categorized as inciting violence. Vavrek strongly disputed these allegations and requested a review of security camera footage. Following roughly 45 minutes of police questioning, the father and son left the stadium and watched the remainder of Real Madrid’s 2–1 victory—secured by a second goal from Mbappé—on a mobile phone inside a taxi.
