Real Oviedo Vetusta Defeats SD Compostela 2-1

Early Deficit Overcome at Vero Boquete

SD Compostela opened the scoring in the 17th minute when Buba capitalized on a sharp run, slipped past his marker, and slotted home at the second attempt following an initial block. The hosts nearly doubled their advantage prior to the intermission, pinning the visiting reserve side deep in their own territory. Buba threatened again in the 35th minute before a crucial defensive clearance intervened, and Mate Sauri produced a vital double save in the 44th minute to deny both Dani González and Diego Uzal.

Coballes and Cazorla Score to Lead 2-1

The visiting side responded swiftly to the initial setback. In the 25th minute, Jaime Coballes let fly with a strike that deflected off a local defender and looped into the top corner of Edu Sousa’s net to equalize. Just as the half approached its conclusion, pressure paid off again in added time when Enzo Cazorla pounced on a goalmouth scramble following multiple rebounds to make it 2-1 before the whistle sounded.

Sauri Protects the Lead Under Second-Half Siege

Compostela emerged from the break determined to restore parity. Buba struck the crossbar immediately upon the resumption of play after his effort brushed a defender, and Sauri subsequently denied Turbi with a sharp foot-save from a close-range header. Head coach Roberto Aguirre turned to his bench in the 59th minute, introducing Diego Espinosa and Abraham to replace Jaime Fuentes and Óscar de la Hera. Later, in the 80th minute, Clavería, Héctor, and Miguel entered for Adri Lopes, Enzo Cazorla, and Gerard Márquez as the visiting team absorbed sustained pressure until the final whistle.
