The Philadelphia Eagles fell 25-14 to the Carolina Panthers at Lincoln Financial Field, sliding to a 2-4 record and dropping four consecutive games for the first time since Nick Sirianni arrived in 2021, DAZN reported.
Consecutive Losses Test Lincoln Financial Field
Philadelphia started the season with two victories before dropping contests to Chicago, the Rams, Jacksonville, and Carolina. Across this four-game skid, the offense has produced just 58 total points, averaging 14.5 points per game. This is the first four-game losing streak for the franchise since 2020, prior to Sirianni’s arrival.
The latest setback against Carolina exposed persistent offensive struggles. Playing in place of the injured starter, backup quarterback Tanner McKee completed 26 of 45 passes for 215 yards and one touchdown without an interception in his first start outside of a Week 18 appearance. Despite avoiding turnovers, McKee absorbed three sacks—including a loss of 11 yards on the opening play—as the Eagles opened the game with five consecutive punts.
McKee connected with DeVonta Smith for a 19-yard touchdown pass that cut the deficit to 19-14 in the fourth quarter, but the offense stalled out with only 222 total yards, including 35 yards on the ground. A late fourth-quarter defensive stop gave Philadelphia a chance to take the lead, but a botched snap derailed the possession and a subsequent blocked punt set up a game-sealing touchdown pass from the Panthers to Tommy Tremble.
Roster Depth Stretched Thin by Injuries
The mounting losses coincide with a significant wave of injuries and roster turnover. The Eagles placed Jalen Hurts on injured reserve on October 17 due to a superficial blood clot in his calf. The club confirmed that he will not be available for the three upcoming games, having already missed the one against Carolina.

The backfield has taken heavy hits as well. Saquon Barkley is sidelined with a hamstring injury, and Will Shipley was placed on injured reserve. Up front, the offensive line has lost two major points of reference with the retirement of Lane Johnson and the transfer of Cam Jurgens. While these personnel shifts explain some of the team’s offensive regression, the first three defeats of the losing streak occurred with Hurts on the field.
Three NFC East Showdowns Await
With a 2-4 standing, Sirianni emphasized collective accountability moving forward. “We all have to do better,” the coach told reporters after the game. The upcoming schedule features three consecutive divisional matchups that will shape the trajectory of Philadelphia’s season before the team’s Week 10 bye.

The Eagles host the Dallas Cowboys on October 26 for Monday Night Football. Following the matchup against Dallas, Philadelphia travels to face the Washington Commanders on November 1 before returning home to host the New York Giants on November 8.
