Nestlé and NBA Launch Global Partnership for Youth Basketball

Nestlé and the National Basketball Association have launched a multi-year global partnership pairing major consumer food brands with youth basketball development programs across twenty countries, as reported by vietnam.vn.

Global Brands Join League Programs

The agreement designates Nestlé brands MILO, NESCAU, and NESQUIK as Official Marketing Partners of the NBA. The collaboration spans numerous youth basketball initiatives operated by the league, including Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA programs, NBA Basketball Schools, Jr. NBA and Jr. WNBA Coaches Academies, Her Time To Play girls’ basketball initiatives, and NBA 3X tournaments. In addition to youth clinics, the partnership extends fan engagement to high-profile league platforms such as NBA Global Games and NBA House.

Strategic Goals for Youth Sports

Liberato Milo, senior vice president and head of Nestlé’s confectionery and snacks strategic business unit, outlined the corporate objective behind the alliance. “During decades, our marcas have believed that sport releases the potential and positive values of each person,” Milo stated, pointing to prior sports initiatives involving MILO and NESCAU. The partnership aims to provide structured physical activity opportunities for children, adolescents, and families across varied international markets.

Expansion in Vietnam and School Sport Integration

The agreement broadens Nestlé MILO’s footprint in Vietnam, building on a three-decade local presence in school sports development. Binu Jacob, general director of Nestlé Vietnam, noted the alignment with domestic educational sports objectives. “Vietnam has achieved remarkable progress in developing school sports and encouraging an active lifestyle among children,” Jacob said, adding that the partnership reinforces existing programs like Active Vietnam to foster physical exercise and confidence among young students.
