“Hola buenos días a toda la familia blaugrana necesito ayuda como persona y ser humano,” Mounir Nasraoui wrote on his Instagram account on Oct. 28, 2026. The cryptic post by the father of Barcelona star Lamine Yamal immediately generated widespread concern, arriving alongside unconfirmed reports of a heated confrontation at Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
An Instagram Appeal Alongside Club President Joan Laporta
Nasraoui shared the plea alongside a black-and-white photograph of himself with FC Barcelona president Joan Laporta. The post quickly drew intense scrutiny from supporters and media outlets alike, though neither Nasraoui nor anyone within Lamine Yamal’s immediate circle has clarified the exact meaning behind the message. Nasraoui disabled the comments on the publication shortly after uploading it.
Disputed Claims Surround Airport Incident Prior to Ballon d’Or Gala
Spanish media outlets have linked the social media post to an alleged dispute at Barcelona-El Prat Airport prior to Nasraoui’s flight to London for the Ballon d’Or gala, where his son was nominated. The disagreement began when terminal staff asked Nasraoui to move a jacket left in a restricted area. Witnesses alleged that the argument escalated, resulting in Nasraoui spitting at a female employee and attempting to throw a chair at bystanders before the Guardia Civil intervened.
La Sexta journalist Marc Fuster stated that Nasraoui traveled to London on a charter flight separate from the official club delegation, treating the matter as a private affair. While media outlets highlighted unconfirmed eyewitness accounts of a physical confrontation requiring law enforcement, no official police statement has corroborated the arrest or detention of Nasraoui, leaving open questions as to how he was permitted to board his flight without restriction.
Prior Controversies and Medical Context Surrounding Nasraoui
The latest episode adds to a history of high-profile incidents involving Nasraoui. In the summer of 2024, he suffered severe stab wounds following an altercation with neighbors in his home neighborhood of Rocafonda. Past incidents include a 2023 conviction for assault and property damage following a clash at a political campaign booth, and crowd altercations during a December 2025 fixture against Real Betis.
During previous public controversies, reports have noted that Nasraoui has occasionally attributed emotional outbursts to strong medication prescribed for epilepsy, a diagnosed condition that can also complicate air travel. Additionally, family members have frequently voiced strong opinions regarding individual awards; following the Ballon d’Or ceremony, Lamine Yamal’s uncle, Abdul Abdellaoui, publicly criticized voting outcomes in remarks broadcast by El Chiringuito TV.
Next Steps for Barcelona and the Yamal Family
FC Barcelona officials have not issued an institutional statement regarding the social media post or the alleged airport dispute, maintaining that the situation falls strictly within Nasraoui’s private life. Club management has previously worked to keep Nasraoui away from intense media spotlights to shield the player from external distractions.
