Mexico Secures Six Lima 2027 Para Archery Quotas with Three Medals

Mexico Secures Six Archery Quota Places for Lima 2027

The Mexican national para-archery team secured six quota places for the Lima 2027 Parapan American Games after capturing two silver medals and one bronze medal in the doubles events at the Para Pan American Championships Lima 2026, Hoy Tamaulipas reported. The continental qualifying tournament runs from October 21 to October 25 in Peru, where the squad met its objective by earning two berths for each of the three pairs that reached the podium.

Double Silver Success in Recurve and Compound Divisions

In the men’s recurve doubles category, Tokyo 2020 and Paris 2024 Paralympian Samuel Efrén Molina Núñez teamed up with Hernán Garza Cuéllar to claim the silver medal. That performance delivered the first two quota spots for Mexico ahead of the 2027 games. In the women’s compound team event, Liliana Montiel Orozco and Lya Daniela Sánchez Tadeo also finished second, adding another pair of entry tickets for the delegation.

Bronze Medal Secures Final Berths in Peru

The third podium finish came in the men’s compound doubles finals, where Omar Echeverría Espinoza and Gerardo Rodríguez Banda secured the bronze medal. Their result clinched the final two qualification slots required to hit the team’s six-quota target. The continental championship brings together athletes from across the Americas as part of the official pathway toward the upcoming Parapan American Games.

Competition Schedule Through October 25

Action at the continental tournament continues through October 25, while the Mexican delegation heads into the remaining schedule with all six targeted berths already guaranteed. The results reinforce the country’s competitive standing across both recurve and compound disciplines in the men’s and women’s divisions as preparations begin for the 2027 multi-sport event in Peru.
