Lionel Messi’s Eldense Appoints Pablo García Montañés as President

Lionel Messi’s recent takeover of Spanish club Eldense has brought its first major boardroom restructuring, with the club announcing the appointment of lawyer Pablo García Montañés as its new president.

Pablo García Montañés Takes the Presidential Seat

García Montañés steps into the role of president following the acquisition of Eldense by the Argentine star. Outside of football administration, García Montañés works as a secretary at Andbank. In his new capacity, he will handle institutional representation for the club and has already been spotted taking his seat in the presidential box during recent matches.

While García Montañés assumes the presidential duties, former footballer Mario Rosas will remain at the helm of day-to-day operations as general director. According to the administrative structure unveiled by the club, Rosas will continue managing the practical, routine execution of club business.

Executive Additions and Administrative Roles

The restructuring extends beyond the presidency. Additionally, Alicante-born architect Fernando Valderrama has joined the club’s board of directors, as detailed on Eldense’s official website.

The club has outlined a clear public-facing structure built around three primary figures. Alongside Mario Rosas, Víctor Lafuente steps in as sporting director, while Javi Calleja takes the position of technical director. These three individuals are designated as the primary public faces of the club, handling communications and speaking on behalf of Eldense within their respective operational spheres.

Clarifying Family Office Involvement

Alfonso Nebot, the director of the family office tasked with managing Lionel Messi’s financial assets, will maintain his current position without taking on any operational role or official link to Eldense.
