Kocēnu Rubene tops ELVI Floorball League after 12-1 win over FBK SĀC

Kocēnu “Rubene” climbed to the top of the ELVI floorball league men’s standings, securing a dominant 12-1 victory over FBK SĀC at the Ādaži Sports Center. Goalkeeper Sandis Venevics earned best player honors for the victors after stopping 17 of 18 shots faced.

Early Resistance Gives Way to Rubene Offensive Surge

The hosts opened the scoring midway through the first period when Ralfs Stratans struck at the four-minute mark with a long-range shot to give FBK SĀC a brief 1-0 advantage. Stratans’ effort proved to be the lone goal of the evening for the Ādaži side. Rubene responded before the first intermission as former Ādaži player Miks Nagliņš leveled the score, Mikus Edvards Ķikuts pushed the visitors ahead, and playing-coach Juris Zilberts added his first goal of the season to establish a 3-1 lead.

The visiting team broke the game open during the second period. Toms Pētersons scored just 32 seconds into the frame from the left side, followed a minute later by a strike from Pāvels Semjonovs. Sandis Venevics turned away a penalty shot awarded to Dēvids Osītis during the middle stanza to maintain command. Kārlis Bitmanis and Māris Parts added further goals before the break, extending the advantage to 7-1.

Unrelenting Pressure Secures First Place in Standings

Rubene maintained their attacking tempo in the final period despite the hosts swapping starting goaltender Daniels Fehers for Emīls Zīvertis. Henri Kukonens found the net 65 seconds into the third period, with Matīss Celms and Hugo Buhrots following to push the score to 10-1. Ķikuts added his goal before Semjonovs converted a power play with nine seconds remaining on the clock to seal the 12-1 final scoreline.

Rubene Dominates FBK SĀC with Broad Offensive Depth

Rubene has outscored the Ādaži club 65 times across their last six encounters, averaging more than ten goals per match.

The box score highlighted broad offensive depth for the visitors, with ten different players finding the scoresheet. Ķikuts, Semjonovs, and Parts each recorded three points, while Ķikuts and Semjonovs each tallied two goals and a helper. Defensively, Venevics anchored the effort, turning aside 17 shots.

Rubene Leads League Table as FBK SĀC Struggles

At the top of the ELVI floorball league table, Rubene leads with 18 points, followed by Masters Ulbroka/LU with 17 points and FK Talsi/TNSS/Krauzers with 16 points. FBK SĀC holds six points through seven games, carrying a 14-44 goal differential during their current five-game skid.
