Recent Swiss hill climb racing results highlight notable performances by Jurassian drivers across Fribourg routes and European rally stages.
Swiss Hill Climb Championship at Châtel-Saint-Denis
The Swiss Hill Climb Championship stop between Châtel-Saint-Denis and Les Paccots featured a 2,325-meter course drawing a dozen Jurassian drivers among the competitors. Aargau driver Robin Faustini set the overall pace in the scratch classification, piloting his Nova MP01 to a leading time of 1’35’’839 under favorable weather conditions.
Jimmy Froidevaux of Charmoille delivered the fastest performance among competing Jurassian drivers, taking seventh overall at the wheel of a Norma M20F. Froidevaux also secured third place in the E2 SportCars category for engines up to 2,000 cubic centimeters with a time of 1’55’’937.
Category Victories Across Fribourg
Sylvain Chariatte of Courgenay captured the SuperSérie category victory driving a Honda Integra Type R in 2’29’’646. In the Classic division for vehicles up to 2,000 cubic centimeters, Robin Terrier of Coeuve claimed top honors in an Opel Astra F GSI 16V with a mark of 2’27’’244, ahead of Patrick Röthlisberger of Eschert in a Fiat 131 Racing Group 2. Jean-Louis Fleury of Châtelat won the 2,001 to 2,500 cubic centimeter class aboard an Opel Ascona B in 2’42’’997.
Arnaud Donzé of Bure finished second in the InterSwiss 1,601 to 2,000 cubic centimer class using a VW Golf HPR in 2’02’’654. David Rossé of Soyhières placed 15th in a VW Golf 3 16V, while François Baume of Courtedoux took 20th in a VW Golf GTI. In the E1 1,601 to 2,000 cubic centimeter division, Fabien Houlmann of Montmelon finished second in a Peugeot 205, and Grég Huguenin of Le Cerneux-Péquignot placed sixth in a Renault Clio 2 Maxi RS. Hugo Mascaro of Bure took third in the 2,001 to 2,500 cubic centimeter class with a BMW E30. Julia Bieri of Alle added a second-place InterSwiss finish in the regional division behind the wheel of a Renault Clio 2 RS.
