Circuit Leadership Highlights Milestone Year for Madrid Motorsport
The event presentation took place at the Jarama Paddock Club with prominent figures from regional sport and motorsport governing bodies in attendance, including Circuit Director and FIA Truck Racing Commission President Ignacio Fernández, Royal Spanish Automobile Federation President Manuel Aviñó, Community of Madrid General Director of Sports Alberto Tomé, and circuit ambassador and driver Antonio Albacete. Fernández noted that the test serves as the concluding motor event of a notable year for Madrid, following the Madrid ePrix of Formula E and the return of Formula 1 to the capital. Albacete, preparing for his 28th appearance at the Spanish Grand Prix, described the venue as home, praising its old-school layout and close connection to supporters.
Inverted Grid Formats and 1,200-Horsepower Machines Shape the Track Action
Both championships contest two races per day, with the second race of each set utilizing an inverted grid format where the top eight finishers from the opening heat start in reverse order, placing the winner eighth and eighth place on pole position to encourage overtaking maneuvers. National championship trucks produce approximately 1,200 horsepower, creating distinct acceleration, braking profiles, and racing dynamics compared to conventional touring car competitions.
Community Tributes and Weekend Fan Activities at Jarama
Organizers have integrated public tributes into the weekend schedule. Saturday features honors for the drivers and teams of the Spanish Truck Racing Championship, while Sunday’s events recognize the emergency personnel of ASEM112—including Community of Madrid firefighters, forest agents, and Civil Protection volunteers—for their wildfire suppression efforts during the summer across the region and neighboring Ávila and Segovia. Off the track, the venue hosts a Fan Zone equipped with simulators, a karting circuit, food trucks, merchandise booths, radio-controlled car tracks, Scalextric setups, driver presentations, and autograph sessions, matching an event that drew over 21,000 spectators to the circuit in 2025.
