Metallica frontman James Hetfield and his partner Andriana Gillett drew unexpected attention at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas during a National Football League matchup between the Las Vegas Raiders and the Kansas City Chiefs, where cameras caught the couple sharing a kiss that quickly circulated online, MARCA reported.
Allegiant Stadium Jumbotron Captures Public Appearance
The unscripted stadium moment occurred during the narrow 30-27 victory by the Kansas City Chiefs over the Las Vegas Raiders in Paradise, Nevada. As the venue’s large display screen panned across spectators, Hetfield and Gillett appeared on screen and shared an embrace that was captured by attendee JT Jasinski, who posted footage with the caption noting that the display was not part of the venue’s traditional kiss cam promotion.
The appearance highlights the couple’s public profile since they began their relationship in 2023. The pairing marked Hetfield’s first public relationship following his divorce from Francesca Tomasi after 25 years of marriage. Gillett, a London native and University of Oxford journalism graduate who has written for The Times and worked in fashion design, maintains a lower profile than the Grammy-winning rhythm guitarist.
Shark-Infended Engagement Preceded Vegas Appearance
The public display follows an engagement announced by the couple in March, when Hetfield proposed during a diving excursion among whale sharks. Sharing updates across their respective social media profiles at the time, Gillett posted a photograph from the underwater proposal featuring a submerged sign reading, “In a sea full of fish, we found each other. Thank God for bringing us together,” while Hetfield confirmed the acceptance with the caption, “She said yes!”
Upcoming Metallica Tour Dates and Sphere Residencies
Following their appearance in Nevada, Hetfield and the members of Metallica remain anchored in Las Vegas for their ongoing concert schedule. The band is performing a residency at the Sphere venue, with eight remaining dates scheduled through October and November on October 15, 17, 22, 24, 29, and 31, followed by November 5 and 7.
Upon completing the current Las Vegas dates, the band travels to the East Coast for two performances at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Connecticut, on November 19 and 21. Their touring schedule extends into early 2027 with a return to the Sphere for 12 additional dates spanning January 28 and 30, February 4, 6, 18, 20, 25, and 27, and concluding on March 4, 6, 11, and 13.
The M72 World Tour resumes internationally on May 8, 2027, in Vancouver, Canada, before hitting U.S. stadiums throughout May—including stops in San Diego, El Paso, San Antonio, Fayetteville, and Kansas City—before wrapping up in June with concerts in Raleigh, Indianapolis, Buffalo, Madison, Cleveland, and Salt Lake City.
