Jakub Mensik Withdraws From Paris Masters Due to Head Injury

Jakub Mensik will miss the upcoming Rolex Paris Masters after suffering a head injury during a match in Vienna, forcing the Czech tennis player to shut down his tournament schedule temporarily to undergo medical evaluation and recovery.

Head Injury Sustained During Vienna Match

The Czech Republic Davis Cup player announced his withdrawal via social media following a sequence of medical examinations. “Hola a todos. Lamentablemente, tras un accidente durante mi partido en Viena, sufrí una lesión en la cabeza y tuve que someterme a varios exámenes médicos,” Mensik stated in his public update. Doctors advised complete rest to ensure proper healing, ruling him out of the Masters 1000 event in the French capital next week. “Siguiendo las recomendaciones de los médicos, necesito descansar y darme el tiempo necesario para recuperarme adecuadamente. Por este motivo, no podré competir en el Masters 1000 de París la próxima semana. Lamento perderme un torneo tan importante, pero la salud siempre es lo primero,” he added.

Recovery Timeline and Davis Cup Status

Despite missing the final ATP Masters 1000 tournament of the season, Mensik has set a firm target for his return to competitive tennis. “Ahora, mi prioridad es recuperarme por completo y, si todo va bien, estar al 100% para la Copa Davis a finales de noviembre, nuestro último gran reto de la temporada,” Mensik noted. The Czech Republic is scheduled to face Canada in the quarterfinals of the Davis Cup Final Phase, which runs from November 24 to November 26, 2026. Mensik expressed gratitude for the widespread support from fans following the announcement: “Muchísimas gracias a todos por vuestros mensajes y apoyo. Significan mucho para mí. ¡Hasta pronto!”
