FC Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane has inspired a limited-edition “Gold Schnitzel” at the Waldgasthof Buchenhain restaurant in Baierbrunn, priced at 31.90 euros. The special dish, featuring edible gold leaf flakes and gold spray, arrives in honor of Harry Kane and celebrates the local restaurant that regularly supplies him.
From Baierbrunn Delivery to Gold Leaf Plates
Ever since Kane relocated to Baierbrunn following his transfer to the Bundesliga giants, the Waldgasthof Buchenhain has regularly supplied his residence with traditional schnitzels. The restaurant’s arrangement rewards every goal-scoring performance with meals sent directly to the striker’s home. During the previous 51-match campaign across all competitions for Bayern Munich, Kane found the net in 39 fixtures, leaving the restaurant’s kitchen to miss out on delivery duty just 12 times.
To mark Kane’s latest individual accolades, the establishment introduced the special Gold-Edition Wiener schnitzel made from veal, served with a choice of roasted potatoes or potato salad. The dish is topped with edible gold leaf flakes and a shimmering gold spray. The menu item will remain available on the daily specials card for at least a week and a half.
Avoiding Prior Culinary Controversies
At 31.90 euros, the Harry Kane tribute schnitzel avoids the high-profile financial scrutiny that accompanied other footballer-linked dining trends in European sports culture. In 2019, former Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribéry faced a weeks-long negative press cycle over a 1,200-euro gold-coated steak purchased at a restaurant in Dubai.
The Waldgasthof Buchenhain has not claimed that the gold-plated veal holds any direct performance-enhancing properties. Neither the restaurant’s ownership nor the player has attributed Kane’s scoring output to the weekly deliveries. Nevertheless, local amateur forwards in the Munich area have been encouraged to sample the dish in pursuit of their own improved scoring statistics.
Autumn Menus at Waldgasthof Buchenhain
Beyond the celebratory gold edition honoring the club’s center-forward, the restaurant south of Munich maintains a busy seasonal calendar through the late autumn months. Veteran television chef Otto Koch is scheduled to present a seven-course tasting menu, followed one week later by traditional Martinmas goose dinners. A pre-Christmas cake buffet is also slated for the end of November.
The Harry Kane schnitzel stands alongside these established seasonal offerings as a temporary fixture on the daily card, capturing the local dining scene’s response to the English striker’s exploits in Bavaria.
