Haidian Badminton Center Enters Final Construction Acceptance Phase

The Haidian Badminton Center in northern Beijing has entered its final construction acceptance phase, which local sports authorities say will help close the region's shortage of large indoor sports facilities.

Public Sports Venue Features 22 Badminton Courts

Located 60 meters west of the intersection of Yongxiang South Road and Fengshuo West Road in Northwestern Wang Town, the key public sports venue sits on a 0.66-hectare plot with a total floor area of 10,400 square meters. The complex features 22 standard badminton courts and is designed to operate 365 days a year.

The interior space spans multiple levels tailored for varied athletic needs. The basement level houses a supporting restaurant, a sunken courtyard, and 65 parking spaces designed to ease visitor congestion. The ground floor contains 10 standard badminton courts alongside commercial spaces, locker rooms, showers, and accessible restrooms. A mezzanine level hosts a fitness center, while the second floor provides 12 additional courts adjacent to a 772-square-meter outdoor platform.

Multi-Sport Flexibility and Commercial Integration

Beyond badminton, the facility’s playing areas can be reconfigured to host basketball, pickleball, volleyball, and HYROX fitness races. The supporting commercial spaces are designed to accommodate sports rehabilitation clinics and equipment retail shops, while the second-floor outdoor deck provides an open area for leisure dining and retail.

The Haidian District Sports Bureau stated that the complex aims to blend mass fitness with commercial consumption, offering dedicated spaces for youth sports training, professional competitions, and corporate team-building events.

Catchment Area and Transportation Access

Positioned to serve dense industrial parks and residential communities, the center sits within a five-minute reach of the Haikai Xinyu Industrial Park, Yongfeng Industrial Base, Yongwang Jiayuan, and Xishan Yihao Yuan.

A 15-minute catchment area extends to Zhongguancun One Science Park and Northwestern Wang Vanke Mall, touching an estimated 60,000 sports enthusiasts. The surrounding zone also includes a concentrated cluster of kindergartens and primary and secondary schools, serving roughly 10,000 school-aged children with active training demands.

For transit, the venue is located approximately two kilometers from Yongfeng Station on Beijing Subway Line 16, with several local bus routes serving the immediate vicinity.

Project Organizers Launch Commercial Leasing Operations

With its construction milestone reached, project organizers have launched commercial leasing operations. Partnerships are currently open for sports venue management, youth athletic training, dining, retail, and sports rehabilitation. Available contract types include naming rights, event management, training partnerships, and retail space rentals. Interested commercial entities can coordinate inquiries via telephone on weekdays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at 010-62625393 and 010-62421129.
