Arch Manning could land with the New York Jets when he enters the NFL draft on April 29, 2027, according to his uncle, former NFL quarterback Eli Manning. Speaking on the Pardon My Take podcast, Eli Manning discussed where he hopes his nephew might begin his professional career once his college career concludes.
“For purely selfish reasons, it wouldn’t bother me if he joined the Jets, simply because I live very close,” Eli Manning said on the program. “I could go to games, go have dinner with him during the week on occasion. I think it would be great for him to have family nearby, so it wouldn’t bother me if he ended up with the Jets, in New York. Those are just my selfish reasons, and I think he could help them.”
Where Arch Manning Ranks Ahead of the 2027 NFL Draft
The Texas Longhorns quarterback currently sits at No. 17 in ESPN’s most recent prospect rankings for the 2027 draft class. Through the early portion of the 2026 college football season, Arch Manning has completed 63.5% of his passes for 862 yards and seven touchdowns across four games, helping lead the University of Texas to a 4-0 record.

If the draft order were finalized today, the Jets would hold three first-round selections—their own pick, alongside picks acquired from the Indianapolis Colts and the Dallas Cowboys. Based on current projections, those selections sit at No. 5, No. 10, and No. 17 overall.
The Manning Family Legacy in Professional Football
Football lineage runs deep through the Manning family. Arch Manning is the son of Cooper Manning, whose football career ended before he reached the University of Mississippi after he was diagnosed with spinal stenosis.
Arch’s uncles, Peyton and Eli Manning, both entered the NFL as the first overall selections in their respective drafts. Peyton Manning was chosen by the Indianapolis Colts in 1998, while Eli Manning was selected by the San Diego Chargers in 2004 before being traded to the New York Giants. Their father, Archie Manning, played 13 seasons in the NFL from 1971 to 1984 as the second overall pick in the 1971 draft, playing for the New Orleans Saints, Houston Oilers, and Minnesota Vikings.
