Dave Maasland confirms relationship with ESET colleague Sandy Liesbeek

Cybersecurity entrepreneur Dave Maasland—widely recognized as the recurring guest “cybermannetje” on the Dutch talk show Vandaag Inside—is in a relationship with colleague and corporate social responsibility manager Sandy Liesbeek.

An Accidental On-Air Reveal by Wilfred Genee

The relationship became public knowledge after host Wilfred Genee accidentally disclosed it during a broadcast of Vandaag Inside. The slip occurred during a discussion about Maasland’s plans to launch a responsible adult entertainment website, when Genee remarked that the entrepreneur was no longer single.

Maasland subsequently confirmed the romance to Privé. He admitted he anticipated immediate reactions on social media following the on-air mention, though those responses ultimately did not materialize.

Years of Collaboration at Cybersecurity Firm ESET

Liesbeek works as a corporate social responsibility project manager at ESET, the cybersecurity enterprise that Maasland originally founded and sold in May for a significant sum, while remaining in his role as chief executive officer.

According to Maasland, the couple has known each other as colleagues and friends for several years. He expressed confidence that this established foundation provides an ideal basis for their romantic partnership.

From ‘Tante Sandy’ to a Permanent Household Presence

Maasland shares a young daughter from a previous relationship with his former partner Tunetta, with whom he announced an amicable separation in December 2025.

Liesbeek was already well-acquainted with the family, having spent years visiting their home as a friend. Because of this existing familiarity, the household transitioned from referring to her as “tante Sandy” (Aunt Sandy) to simply using her first name to avoid confusion regarding her permanent presence in the home.
