Daniela Martínez: From World Championship to Regional Competition

Daniela Martínez secured a 20th-place finish at the 3D Archery World Championships in Yankton, United States, representing Argentina in the Barebow Women Senior category. Martínez, an athlete from Club Petroquímica, competed against archers from 16 nations throughout the multi-day tournament, El Patagónico reported.

Performance at the Yankton World Championships

Martínez established her position early in the competition. During the first day of the event, she recorded 406 points, which placed her in 12th position. On the second day, she added 346 points to her total, bringing her cumulative score to 752 points. This performance placed her 18th in the general classification, securing her a spot in the elimination rounds.

The transition to the elimination stage took place on the third day. In the round of 12, Martínez faced American archer Ava Jones. The match concluded with a narrow score of 100 to 99 in favor of Jones, officially placing Martínez 20th in the final standings of the international competition.

Interaction with World-Ranked Competition

A notable aspect of the tournament for the Argentine representative was the opportunity to compete alongside top-tier international talent. Martínez shared a patrol with Italy’s Cinzia Noziglia, who holds the world number one ranking in the category. This experience allowed Martínez to observe and compete directly with one of the most decorated archers in the 3D discipline.

Institutional Milestone for Club Petroquímica

Martínez’s participation is a milestone for Club Petroquímica, as she is the second athlete from the institution to compete in a 3D Archery World Championship. The club’s history in this global event began in 2023, when Gabriel Rivas represented the institution at the World Championships held in Slovenia. Following her return, the club acknowledged the support provided by Comodoro Deportes and other institutions that facilitated Martínez’s travel and participation in the United States.
