The CTT Braine men’s table tennis teams have set clear promotion targets for the current interclub season, aiming to push their top four squads upward across regional and national divisions.
Strong Openings for the Top Squads in National and Regional Play
CTT Braine’s premier squad features two new arrivals alongside B0 players Boris Dargent and Benjamin Noël. The top team kicked off the interclub season with a dominant 2–14 away victory against Arc En Ciel, followed by an identical 14–2 win at home against Rooigem last Saturday. Noël and Xavier Wats have maintained a flawless individual record, failing to drop a single match through the opening rounds of the campaign.
Meanwhile, the B team competes in Nationale 2, Series B, and similarly routed Rooigem’s B squad 14–2 last Saturday. The winning lineup featured Geoffrey Levêque, Auguste Oldenhove de Guertechin, Maxime Wauthoz, and Aaron Van Pee, all classified as B2 players.
Scheduling Conflicts and Early Setbacks for the C Team
Despite eleven B2 players listed on the club’s roster—eligible to feature in either Nationale 2 or Nationale 3—the club’s C team stumbled in its opener. Considered a strong favorite in Nationale 3C, the squad fell 11–5 on the road against Gullegem.
Club secretary Gaëtan Barridez pointed to early calendar complications as a factor in the opening loss. “The report of the match initial de l’équipe B à Gullegem suite à la participation d’Auguste Oldenhove de Guertechin à l’Open de Belgique a joué en notre défaveur,” Barridez indicated, noting that the scheduling adjustment allowed Gullegem to reinforce its lineup with a B2 player. The club maintains that Gullegem is unlikely to emerge as a direct rival for promotion.
Regional Success and Roster Depth at Braine
Further down the structure, the D team has established an early foothold in the regional ranks. Capable of fielding three B4 players and one B6 at the regional level, the Brainois sit atop the regional Series A standings after completing their first two fixtures.
