Club Baloncesto Tizona and Ibercaja have officially renewed their collaboration agreement for the 2026/2027 season. The formal signing ceremony took place at Ibercaja’s central headquarters located in Burgos, locking in an ongoing partnership centered heavily on regional sports development and youth academy programs.
The renewed agreement keeps Ibercaja as a backer of the club’s sporting and social projects for the upcoming campaign. Javier González Moreno, provincial director for Ibercaja, and Miguel Ángel Benavente de Castro, president of Club Baloncesto Tizona, met at the Burgos office to execute the renewal.
Investment in Burgos youth basketball and academy training
A core focus of the renewed partnership centers on grassroots basketball development, which serves as a foundational pillar for Club Baloncesto Tizona. Backing from Ibercaja will directly target the club’s introductory basketball schools and youth academy squads, helping young athletes build on-court skills alongside personal development.
Club Baloncesto Tizona currently manages more than 20 teams across various lower categories. Beyond competitive league fixtures, the organization runs basketball camps and community social initiatives designed to introduce children and teenagers to the sport. Club leadership emphasizes a comprehensive developmental model where athletic training pairs directly with fundamental values such as discipline, personal effort, teamwork, and persistence.
Corporate backing and community health priorities
The continuation of the agreement reflects Ibercaja’s commitment to supporting sports organizations that foster youth development and advocate for healthy lifestyles. During the signing event, Javier González Moreno said he wanted to align with institutions that prioritize personal and athletic growth.
For Ibercaja it is fundamental to walk hand in hand with institutions that promote the growth of the youngest through daily effort and cooperation, principles that we fully share in our vocation of service,
González Moreno stated during the meeting at the Burgos headquarters, noting the firm’s dedication to nurturing young talent and strengthening the Burgos community.
Consolidating the Tizona youth structure
Club Baloncesto Tizona officials view the agreement as a vital tool for stabilizing their youth framework. The backing from Ibercaja ensures the club can maintain its existing operational capacity, create new pathways for developing prospects, and continue expanding its community outreach to local families seeking structured athletic programs in Burgos.
