BadmintonPeople.dk, Denmark’s official badminton portal, has been acquired by Bermann & Rosenberg Media ApS with the objective of building the country’s largest and most comprehensive digital destination for the sport both domestically and internationally. The platform, which initially launched on May 8, 2009, operates under new ownership following a transaction finalized in October 2026.
Origins as the Official National Badminton Portal
The website originally debuted nearly two decades ago through a collaborative partnership between Danmarks Badminton Forbund—now known as Badminton Danmark—and the IT firm ClubPeople. Initial development focused on modernizing administrative workflows for Danish badminton clubs, streamlining day-to-day operations for club leaders, coaches, and registered players alike.
A major structural overhaul occurred in June 2009, though the most significant operational split arrived a decade later in June 2019. Badminton Danmark opted to divide the platform’s functions to enhance user experience. All official competitive activities, including tournament registrations, match schedules, and national rankings, were migrated to a dedicated separate domain named BadmintonPlayer.dk.
Expansion Plans Under Bermann and Rosenberg
Following the October 2026 acquisition by Bermann & Rosenberg Media ApS, the current leadership team aims to consolidate comprehensive coverage onto BadmintonPeople.dk. The editorial roadmap includes gathering news, match results, tournament listings, player profiles, and television broadcast schedules in a single hub.
Bermann & Rosenberg Media ApS is owned by partners Åge Rosenberg and Claus Bermann. Both proprietors are longtime sports enthusiasts who manage an established portfolio of digital sports properties. Their network includes the English-language sister site BadmintonPeople.com, alongside specialized Danish platforms covering various disciplines, such as Fannews.dk, Tennissporten.dk, MyHandball.dk, Formel1live.dk, Coppadiem.dk, and Fodboldspilleren.dk.
